Kyran David Russell Simmons In Loving Memory of Kyran David Russell Simmons 6/4/90 ~ 9/29/07

He was a 17 year old young man full of life with hopes and dreams of his future. He loved to fish, play basketball and was a huge Auburn fan. He was very responsible and did not normally do drugs. He was hanging out with an older friend on Friday 28 of September. The 21 yo guy bought beer and he took Kyran over to a drug dealers house and bought them some Methadone wafers. They drank and Kyran had took ¼ of the wafer (the rest was in his pocket). Kyran went to his brothers house to spend the night and laid down at the foot of his brothers bed while he was sleeping. His brother woke up at 5:30 am to find his brother dead at his feet. He came to my house to bust in my bedroom at 6am screaming he is dead he is dead. I went straight over to see him and the sheriff would not let me in. I didn’t see my son for 3 days after the autopsy. This was the worst time of my life. All I wanted to do was die. Kyran was my life and I had to find hope again. Kyrans brother and his wife are expecting a baby girl on the day Kyran died, September 29, 2008, 1 year later. I know this is my hope to carry on. Only Gods grace has saw me through. The picture I attached is me and two of my sons. Kyran is on the left (looking at the picture, or I have my right arm around him) That picture was taken on Easter Sunday after church the easter before he died. The boy that bought the Methadone for Kyran got sentenced to 5 years, 2 years in prison and 3 years on probation in exchange for his testimony against the drug dealer that sold them the methadone. The drug dealer has yet to be indicted by the grand jury. I am still waiting for justice to be served against him.
