Patrick passed away on September 29 from a combination of drugs including methadone.All of these were prescribed by doctors. Pat attended the methadone clinic in our town. He became addicted to pain pills while being treated for a sports injury. He tried but he couldn't overcome the addiction. Our family tried in every way too support him. One day he came home from the clinic and told us he was going on methadone. It was going too be the answer for him and he would be able to lead a normal life. We were scared when we heard methadone but he was 24 years old and he seemed so sure that this would be the thing that was going to help him. Instead it ruined his life and then it took his life. It never helped it made everything worse, from car accidents too physical symptoms. Pat was never the same it just overtook his life. The clinic knew he was on hydrocodone and soma for his pain but they continued to give him a high dose of methadone. I wish he had never gone to this clinic. He thought he was going for help and instead he died. Pat was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and nephew. He loved life and fishing and sports and he loved his family. We all miss him and wish this never happened to him. I think of him every minute of every day. I just hope he is at peace now.
